The treasure map led them to the treasure. The map was created from the source 'track' photo with the idea that a pirate may have made the rough-looking map, wasn't really good at writing, etc. Please see SBS for details of the map. The white space ruins this otherwise great image.
I'd change the name, because i don;t think your image shows that message, it shows a lot of anger, but it doesn;t seem to me like she's been 'Buried Alive'
That is much better. The only problem is that the edges of the hair fade to white as if there is a lightsource behind them even though the head is on the ground.

add some burn/shadow/texture to the pups face.. I think that was your goal..... you got the background solid..but the center focus (dog face) needs some force

It looks like the papers are casting a shadow on the sky, i think if you removed it and maybe gave it a touch of motion blur it could add to the realism. It's a very nice composition and you've matched the multiple sources really well
