Section of the sand to right of the boat is lassoed, scaled larger and duplicated to fill in bottom half of canvas.

Boat is rotated slightly and added behind sand and grass layer. Ropes will be cloned out.

A pattern layer of more sand was made from a sandy section of source, then saved to 'define pattern', the added behind the boat and shaped with eraser tool.

Wood sticking up from boat top is lassoed out and used to make the fence, scaling to narrower strips, and rotating to resemble the fence which is leaning. Wire will be added using the brush tool.

Here the dune behind the boat is cut down and the ocean and tall grass added.

Birds were added last, scaling them to various sizes, and lowering the contrast of those further away.
