itgik: Lots of entries are masking red, is this allowed or is it simple reducing all non reds to greyscale?

This is one way to do it in photoshop - there are many different ways.
If you don't have photoshop I can also show you how to do it in Lightroom and Zoner Photo Studio. Otherwise, let me know what software you do use and I can show you with them.

(2 years and 141 days ago) jeaniblog: Easiest way is to open your image in photoshop, go to 'Image' (top left), then 'Adjustments', then 'Hue/Saturation', open the list under 'Master', then reduce every colour except red to -100....Good Luck!
