This is my "I am back!" -entry for the PXLeyes. I was away for a LONG time, and now I felt like refreshing my "art"-hobby.

This one took mostly a lot of work by hand and standard brushes, to add texture for the "ball" made from the sunshade, and blending in the extra garment for the monk boy's cloth. Also hours of work with the shadows, as most had to be add by hand, trying to walk the thin line between realistic and "looks better this way!" I tried to blend the invisible barrier of depth with imaginary design.

After seeing my first upload I edited it and re-submitted a de-saturated/darkened version but I think you are right and have re-re-edited it and put some of the highlights back in as you suggested!

I first color corrected the photo a little bit, and removed the blue and red fringe around the guy, then i created the table, with some fibers, and textures. Then i created the big thing: the eyes. They took small amount of time to create them actually. Last, i added shadows and few things. (5 years and 2869 days ago)

In this composite i used some images and some filters to achieve this soil and dust that appears under the highway. I used some fibers, clouds, noise etc. to get that kinda cement effect.The sun burst effect was created by an angle gradient. Then i added the car, and some ligtning and shadows. if you were to take the end of the black section on the right, and make the line moving diagonally left, it would look more like a hole, rather than now it looks a little flat
