This is my "I am back!" -entry for the PXLeyes. I was away for a LONG time, and now I felt like refreshing my "art"-hobby.

This one took mostly a lot of work by hand and standard brushes, to add texture for the "ball" made from the sunshade, and blending in the extra garment for the monk boy's cloth. Also hours of work with the shadows, as most had to be add by hand, trying to walk the thin line between realistic and "looks better this way!" I tried to blend the invisible barrier of depth with imaginary design.

This came out pretty well, except for the dice. The colors have blurred and now over dominate the shape, so that the pips are hard to make out.

Perhaps make a selection of just the dice, and then "fade" the color depth effect of the section (Edit>Fade effect IMMEDIATELY after making the change), to better allow the dice to look more natural.

Gopan.. my mother is 82 years old and has had 10 children.. and she is STILL a girl to me.. and she's just as beautiful as she was when she was 21 thank you very much.. even more so.. we can't all look like Britney or the Jonas Brothers.. thank you very much... sheesh.. Oh Author... I can see the love in your work..You may want to pull back on the saturation a bit to give her less TAN red and more FLESH tones.. It works for me when I do restorations on water damaged pics

I am not a professional. I am doing this for fun. When it no longer becomes fun, it's time to step back. I removed my entries from that particular contest because it seemed to me they were more interested in ogling pretty girls than in the quality of the retouching. The "girl" I chose was a beautiful (to me) elder and I used the Dragan effect on the picture. I got slammed because she wasn't a young pretty girl. I choose not to participate in a contest where quality is not important, only how young and pretty the girls are.
