I flatten image (Save As - I always keep my layered image). Take a final look and adjust if needed.

This time I felt the shadows on the rock needed softening (this step) and the image needed to be desaturated and lighting adjusted slightly (next step).

I was going to add a fairy but in the end decided not to. Thought I would show it here and see what everyone thought.
