Very cute Idea author (May want to add a little feathering/blur to the edge of the owl to give it a little less "CUT OUT" feel, but that could just be me.. GOOD LUCK!!!

Nice work on the owl, but I think I like the image better without it.

author says:

Thanks. I thought about it too, but the picture seemed pretty empty without the owl.

avatar weatherspc

I have to disagree with friiskiwi. I feel the image is much better with the owl, she balances it out and adds interest. Very nice work Author!

author says:

Thank you.

I like the owl more from a technical point of view than artistic; I mean I appreciate the quality of the work you did to manipulate the source image in such a way that it looks like it belongs, though I'm not convinced it needs to be there in the first place

BTW everyone else, check out the high-res version.

avatar lincemiope

Sorry to rain on the parade but a goat and a leopard are both mammals.
From the contest description: "Pick at least 3 categories. (one mammal, one bird, one fish for instance) do not use two animals from one category."

author says:

yup, already on it will be done shortly, why don't people read the rules---sheeeesh.

Nice looking creature. I think I would have extended the spine down the back more, but it's a good blend.

author says:

Thank you sir! I was thinking about doing that very thing.

Great job on the tree. I'm jealous! And the owl is very good too.

avatar elemare

I really like the owl (left ear could have used a little more color blending), but I think the stretched/smeared sections of tree detract from the rest of the work on the tree. Good luck!
