Contest goal:

Soon our free online magazine "the eye 3" will be released. In case you missed the first 2 magazines, you can find them here.

The next edition will be themed "The Masters" meaning we’ll have some articles and interviews surrounding this theme. This contest will be a photoshop contest which means you can enter photomanipulations, digital drawings but also think your own photos (as long you do some photomanipulation to it). You can see "the Masters" as someone like DaVinci (painting, drawing and more), Ansel Adams (photography) or nowadays masters in 3D and photoshop. It can also be someone who pushed borders, invented new techniques...
You can depict this person or be inspired on his or her work or show this person working, show the technique/invention... it’s up to you. Somehow you MUST include the PXL logo in your entry.

Your entry should be made in portrait with a minimal size of 2600 x 3400 pixels at 300 DPI (keep this ratio). This includes a bleed. You should be able to provide the 300 DPI version in .psd format when requested. Furthermore you MUST provide a good SBS which we can publish as a tutorial in this magazine.
Make sure to leave space in your entry to put the header.

Status: finished. Check out the winners below!

MossyB: If chosen, will we get paid for the tutorial? ( 5 years and 1294 days ago )
robvdn: @MossyB: That's up to the admin, it's up to him to decide to place the tutorial at PXL and how much he's willing to pay for it.
The chosen entry may however not upload the tutorial before 'the EYE 3' is released. The SBS should be good enough though to transform it as a tutorial which will be posted in the magazine. You'll have 2 weeks after the contest closes to transform the SBS into a good tutorial. ( 5 years and 1294 days ago )

Over centuries Saint Luke has been the patron of painters and artists. In this work he's shielded for the worldly temptations of pxleyes.

On his belt you can see a paintbrush, a computer mouse and a camera.

Kept the rest of the image empty because some stuff will be added later on, like the logo. (5 years and 1287 days ago)

I was inspired by designer & artist Per Arnoldi.
Arnoldi is very well known for his posters and book covers.
His style is simple and just playing with colors and thickness of the text, is a typical characteristic of his style. (5 years and 1287 days ago)

When held under a black light, Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper", shows three characters only known as P, X, and L. Historians and philosophers are working around the clock to explain the three uninvited guests.
