Last year we had an all blue contest. Now it's time for an "all red" photoshop contest!
Be creative and create an image with various sources, and make sure that your final result contains only tones of red, along with pure white and pure black.

shankarsadamate229: Contest rule says final result contains only tones of red along with pure white & pure black means not the tones of black or white. No gray tones allowed? Which entry in this contest is made with pure black? (1 year and 179 days ago)
Norman: Most light sources are mixtures of various wavelengths of light. However, many such sources can still have a spectral color insofar as the eye cannot distinguish them from monochromatic sources. For example, most computer displays reproduce the spectral color orange as a combination of red and green light; it appears orange because the red and green are mixed in the right proportions to allow the eye's red and green cones to respond the way they do to orange.
A useful concept in understanding the perceived color of a non-monochromatic light source is the dominant wavelength, which identifies the single wavelength of light that produces a sensation most similar to the light source. Dominant wavelength is roughly akin to hue.
There are many color perceptions that by definition cannot be pure spectral colors due to desaturation or because they are purples (mixtures of red and violet light, from opposite ends of the spectrum). Some examples of necessarily non-spectral colors are the achromatic colors (black, gray and white) and colors such as pink, tan, and magenta.

CMYK46: Norman, take your entry and change the mode to CMYK. Then click off the channels one by one. You'll see why the image isn't just black, white, and red. Tan & magenta incorporate blue. The contest specifies black, white, and red. (1 year and 178 days ago)

DanLundberg: The contest description allows "tones" of red (while white and black have to be "pure" -- which would seem to disallow gray). It's not clear what colors can be added to red to create a tone, however. Since the description doesn't explicitly prohibit adding blue, for example, a purplish red would seem to be permissable. linophryne: Tones of Red can have the color black in it, So I'm sure most of these pictures have "pure black" in it somewhere since black is black... purple doesn't make black, nor does brown. if you see black, it's black. (1 year and 178 days ago)
Drivenslush: I think Gray is allowed.. it doesn't seem to be a problem with most entries
