Very appealing image author!! I don’t know how much realism you want in this or you maybe just going for the visual element.....for me there is a bit to much light in the scene whether it be ambient light or not. maybe try taking the whole image down a couple of notches, then make the moon glow a bit, and possible the addition of a couple of lanterns on the pier to guide the ship in. Only suggestions maybe worth a play will leave it in your more than capable hands........

Great mood! Nice rock formation. The lighting/shadows are a little weird. There are very strong shadows on the rocks, but they cast very soft shadows over the water. The casted shadows should also be that dark. The rocks of the contest source behind the pier have softer shadows on them then the big rock formation. You could make those shadows as dark as the big rock formation to fit the scene. I like the overall mood though! Good luck! Reply »

Nice idea author, but i think the ripples let the image down a little. The trick that i use is to use the ZigZag filter. If you make a circular selection around the base of the neck and feather that selection by about 40 pixels and then go to Filter - Distort - ZigZag and play around with the options, you will get some nice ripples.

Nice surreal image love the water cascading from the picture frame to the chair have a couple of suggestion for improvements, with the amount of light coming threw the window The tires at the end of the pier need to have stronger highlights and the edges of the pier its self could do with being a little softer, the cracks in the water are not really adding anything to the image and may possible look better with out them….

I would also lose the cracks. A bit sloppy work with the masking, especially with the inner part of your mirror/painting frame, should fix that. I would also lose that part of ground/root on the right side of the couch, looks weird. Also the water level below the pier is a bit higher than on the rest of the image. Maybe also add some contrast to the ocean image on the painting (and even straighten the horizon with the frame.. dunno about that thou).

This is very good. I like the use of textures , Just a suggestion: Erase the part of texture which is on the sea, your image will look much better if the texture is present only in the sky. GL !

I like this a lot it’s a superb idea and the textures really do make the image but and theres always a but.......
What you have at the moment ( texture wise) is a little to overwhelming maybe try a texture with less marks.Or flip the one you have no harm in trying

Thank you for your comments everyone.. Lamantine, i very rarely work with textures, and i only use them to blend images together to help match colours. If i only applied it to the sky it would defeat the point of having it in the first place.
Ironcow, in my eyes the source is there to be used however the author wants, the idea came when i zoomed into the high res picture and saw the shape of the source.
