I absolutely love this! High steampunk vote. A couple things, tho, it doesn't quite look like she's sitting in or on the brass thing, if you could somehow cut out the front and set her back into it a bit. Also, some kind of background, even if it's blurred might look more 'real'. Great job incorporating the other elements with this. If anyone knows where that steampunk tutorial is, please pm me. The overall look of this is very steamy!

One slight thing maybe some sort of a texture on the umbrella maybe something like the brass or copper tank -- seem a bit to smooth as it is IMHO Reply »

Thanks for the comments everyone. She is sitting on a seat which is shown in the SBS. Reflection in goggles was removed because it was of a kitchen and I wanted to be able to see her sexy eyes. Background was left off because I wanted everyone to concentrate on the subject, a background could be too distracting. I like your suggestion Alan about the texture, I'll see what I can do. Reply »

Very creative and a lovely, surreal image. Having the statues behind the curtain while the umbrella is in front of it might a be little too surreal, however. Also, I confess I would have struggled to identify the sad elements without your explanation. The colorful, entranced gazing statues, for example, don't immediately say "sadness" to me. Reply »

this image was created in CS4's 3D engine. My puppet is comprised of speres, cylinders, and cubes. The rings were created using the eliptical paths then connect to the strings that were made with the pen tool. the hat is also a shape out of the 3D engine in CS4. When working with the 3D engine to save your computers ram you should rasterize each shape before you began to work with the next one... The hands and umbrella were added using conventional blending methods. Reply »

Another suggestion: you can do your sbs WHILE you do your work on PS, saving each path as low res JPEG in a folder called "SBS of...", for example, using the option "save as". That's the way I do... GL! Reply »
