Contest goal:
A chance for people to show off something blue... The goal is simple: Convert a photograph to black/White and selectively colour 1 or more objects in your picture. For example: color only a certain piece of clothing, leafs on a tree, clouds, etc...)

meatman: is there any other way to do the selective coloring besides using the eraser or paint tool to select the color. I am a little shaky and its hard to do it good without jaggy edges, etc. Any help would be appreciated. ( 5 years and 2632 days ago )
friiskiwi: If you have something really blue in the image, you could try desaturating all channels bare the blue one. ( 5 years and 2632 days ago )

poetress59: I am curious...since it seems the contest goals have been changed or modified, should anyone who may have changed something to blue that was not blue in the original photo, red flag themselves? Would that save a lot of hassle in the long run before voting is completed? I have one entry that followed the original goals and guidelines but now does not since it has been emphasized it had to be blue originally....I will red flag myself with that photo but thought this might be helpful for those that may have done the same thing based on the original goal of the contest.

lolipop4400: i am mad the the contest moderator removed my entry.....the goal didn't say the objects must already be blue in color...when was this changed?! it also says...and quote "For example: color only a certain piece of clothing, leafs on a tree, clouds, etc...)" so how can you have a blue leaf or blue clouds originally? Contest Moderator: @lolipop.... The mods cant always change the description as suggested. What we can do is clarify and add to the description. This contest, like the original is to create an entry that has only blue. The process means to take a photo with blue in it and only have the blue show. I agree... leafs on a tree is a bad example... but it was there. ( 5 years and 2628 days ago )

TwilightMuse: My entry was removed too. Didn't expect the contest guidelines to be "clarified" thus when I uploaded my image I didn't reread the guidelines. It certainly stated something quite different in the original description. ( 5 years and 2624 days ago )

this is one classic piece of work here !! Awesome indeed !! HIGH SCORE!! was the whole rose blue, then just part of it exposed after desaturation?
Thank you for your comment. No, the rose was a light pinkish color, and I painted it with blue nailpolish, and then desaturated everything but blue.

I had an image similar a while back for a painting contest. I'm not saying you saw it, just stuck out to me because it was similar to what I did. I still think its a beautiful image and great idea. You know what they say great minds think alike
I apologize for any similarity. Your mind may be great, but mine doesn't always fire on all cylinders.
