EmiK: What I had in mind is that you capture as much black in a creative way as possible. The black doesn't have to take up the whole picture, but it definitely should be the main focus. Just like the white contest but the opposite. Also Mods, are B&W pictures allowed, because what thought was a color shot of black, not B&W, otherwise it would be easy to turn a lot of things in to black. But I leave that up to you. Contest Moderator: Being that the White contest allowed B&W photos I see no reason to deem them off topic in this contest, the guidelines do not specifically prohibit them. ( 5 years and 2951 days ago )
jawshoewhah: I think silhouettes are a little too easy for any of the black entries. IMO, keeping the contest in color wouldn't have been a bad idea either.
I also don't have any problem with black and white in photos. I think a white background would better accent a black subject but it seems with some of these entries, the main subject isn't black and only the surroundings are black. I don't really see how those are on theme but once again, IMO......

Contest Moderator: Because it was not expected does not automatically deem it off topic...I'm sorry members....but I have to disagree with you here....a main subject of black is what the guidelines call for and a silhouette fulfills these requirements... ( 5 years and 2948 days ago )

CrystleClear: mod, please do take note that silhouettes are people or animals that are in a shadow of some sort and black is not the main focus, because unless the person is a grim reaper or a demon and is an all black figure, it is technically not a "black" focus ( 5 years and 2948 days ago )
