the pedal binds to his neighbor
Van Gogh reached to the Sunflower pot
and the new
Makes roses... and we become less melancholy
For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you. ~don mclean
Simple Power is so rarely recognized... sadness he wasn't famous during his living time.. great talent author..

Very very nice work author...well done
This is so lovely and so very well done. The vase is fantastic.
I want to thank all of you for the comments and the favs , you are all awesome
You prompt me to learn Painter, it's excellent in creating the realistic media. I thought you submitted a traditional work at the first sight lol. Absolutely awesome drawing!
Maybe you can add a bit more shadow of the vase on the ground, they look not really connected.
I love that you have so many textures in this piece...from the flowers and greenery...to the look of the wall behind and the roundness you captured with the vase. This looks like a beautiful painting.
Always had a liking for paintings that depict glass with objects or water in them. This one is just brilliant. Also love the faux finish over the entire piece...nice touch.
Well done indeed!
And I found the ultimate one..., I want to fav it double..., super stuff, the work on the wase is absolutley stunning..., once more., beautiful entry... good luck to you author....

This is so beautiful. It makes me want to reach out and touch the flower.
You really know how to emphasize the focus of your image. The square frame and the color scheme are wise choices, and I like the ant, too, nice touch! Good luck to you, artist

Excellent work, beautiful detail, very realistic!
Fantastic drawing author...well done
Great..nice detail in the lace
This is wonderful....well done author!
Author...beautiful selection of color. Very nicely done!!
The flowers are beautifully done, you need darker shadows under the flowers and down around the lower stems going into the paper sleeve. for better contrast. nice work here.
The best dd contest so far...,i am checking one after one.. its getting beautiful and more beautifull.. great job., good luck author

Like the texture on the petals. The background could be better though imo (more contrast?)
Interesting comment there... kid. xD
I really wanted to make a simple background... maybe I'll try to fix that :P
I love it the way it is now.. nice bright colours, great texture and a very good drawing! Good luck
The flower is very very cute. Excellent Execution.
Very nice, I like how you built up the colors, this has great dimension.
Lovely! But I agree with Kid, the background could be better. Maybe some brush strokes as the ones you used for the flower.
Nice work at flower , backrround need a more cold color imo . Good skill
Fantastic painting...best of luck
This is lovely. I can almost smell the sweet scent.
Fantastic ! I am having a rough time deciding my fav between this and another.....i like the simple background. And I would bet in my 8 kazillion flower photos I got a background very similar.
My fav gallery is going to be filled with flowers..., wonderful entry gl author

The lilies would not be so brightly illuminated in the night...
Also, the moon positioned dead center and behind them emphasizes the unrealistic lighting...I'd suggest eliminating it, and just titling this "Lilies..."
awesome.. my fav..
Thanks for your comments.
Mossy, unfortunately the original image had entirely different colours - more subtle and in earthly-like tones. The problem is that I created the image in CMYK mode instead of RGB, but I discovered it after I had finished painting it. The result is the bright colours.
If you know how I can convert from CMYK to RGB without colour loss please let me know.
I Love the look of this. Great Job author!
Author, I think if you go into Menu->Image->Mode and then choose RGB and flatten the layers it if it asks you to, then you should be able to convert it to RGB with just a slight variation in colour. CMYK colours definitely do not view well on screen. Hope it works out, GL.
Really nice flowera, just not sure on the background. The moon is way to dominant and a little to centered for me.
I like this style. Its very bold. But I have to agree about the moon. It detracts from your wonderful flowers. Maybe if you move it off to the right a little a make it not so bright, It would allow your flowers to show off more.
Thank you all for your suggestions. Mad, I will try this and hope it will come out better.
Also, I will try to do something with the moon.
Beautiful colors. Nice contrast here!
To late to change it but I really see no problem with the moon itself, but I would dim the contrast on it so it is not so bright.
Very Nice.......G/L Author.
