Love what you did with this author.. only a suggestion.. You should adjust the UNTOUCHED side of the image to the equal size of the finished side (just for clarity)...
...also, a little more attention to the neck collar is needed as it's all over the place. The angle to the neck is weird and the way it doesn't complete it's journey around the neck is glaring. It's a great idea, but if it looks wonky, that's all a viewers eyes can see and takes away from the terrific make up work you did on the rest of the piece. IMHO of course. GREAT JOB on the face

I love the work on the face and the mood is great. However i think you shoulld work more on the dress because it's not enough integrated into the picture, it make false. may be you can try to make it less shiny and work with the burn and doge tool. Good luck author !

Sorry if you feel my comment is dismissive, it wasn't meant that way (English is not my first language). What you did in putting the parts together you did good but IMHO opinion that is just part 1 of the restoration. There's cracks in it as well, dust spots, scratches, color differences and so on. There's where another part of this challenge lies.

Was hoping to motivate you to attack those challenges also, again sorry if it sounded offensive.

I am also working on this restoration, have a couple of hours in it so far, it's long and tedious work, two weeks to go, so that seems like plenty of time, hope it's worth it, if nothing else but for the practice, ...and patience.

If you feel like you want to keep going on it, the PS spot healing brush tool can help a lot in this case, slow but steady.

Please don't take this the wrong way author, you are off to a fine start, but it's a long way before one can call it restored. Keep going at it, don't stop there.

You might want to try to really restore the photo itself, pasting the parts together is just 1 part of the restoration challenge.

Pretty nice masking. One thing about the boy, is it possible to make is superlight hair a bit less bright? Now it looks a bit too much like there's a huge light pointed on him from the right, while the rest of the room only gets light from the window. Good luck!

Wow! VERY realistic! Just one thing though..... see the shadow his 'hand' is casting on the horizontal rail, and his cheek and ear on the corner post?...To my eye, they should be a bit more clear and defined. See how the slats cast shadows on the bumper pad and mattress? Because the koala is in direct line between the window & the crib, his shadow should be a gradient blur....just like the shadows on the bedding. The further down, the softer the shadow. The shadowing from his arm down is great. It's just his hand and cheek/ear.

Well i would suggest you do something about the background - find a jungle pic or something related to parrots, put her in a cage.., idk, you get the idea

Great job on the repair, so nice you've used this image, now you can share with your family. Very sweet coloring job, still has that antique feel.
