The service ware is very very well done , nice sharp and crisp, but the cake is a bit blurry in spots.very nice entry over all .

author.. looking at your teacup/service platter design.. I think you should research MOORCROFT pottery.. you already got the feel for it and Ms. Bishop would be an inspiration to you (Not to mention if you learned about tubelining you'd probably have a blast with the idea.. when I sold the stuff I'd hold a vase in my hand for two hours, just marveling at the wonderful textures and feels (this piece reminds me of that)... Super work I really like this, it looks delicious! The only thing I noticed that I think would make this much better, is if you changed the table it is on, only because it looks like it's made in a different painting style then the ice cream is. Also the reflection should be lighter, so that u can see both the checkered table and the glass.

A nice comp, but the character is disproportioned:
his head is too big, and the arms are too long compared to small legs. The longest bone in the human body is the femur ( thigh bone).
Apart that, the levels, textures and wing design work really well.

1.Use cloning stamp on tomato to adjust light and shadows;
2.also use a separate layer with low opacity to paint the shades & lights.
3. Check the shadow cast by looking at the shades of those plants from source 3. The shadow from the character should be at the same angle.
4. Don't get mad on my comment, just trying to help

Your exactly right author. Keep at it. With wings you need to multi layer, especially for translucency. Both mossy and sgc have some helpful pointers. GL

Your light source is upper right. The skin on the wings should be showing some refraction/reflection of the light source, even if slight, not just jet black.

If you are not familiar with drawing on a PC, I suggest you do not draw objects with hard lighting and harsh shadows on black backgrounds. Light is NOT pinpoint narrow. It is reflected to varying degrees off of any surface. Fur and skin absorb some amounts of light and then refract it back out, and whatever ground surface (rocks?) would be lit up with a light source as bright as you are using, if the claws are any indication.

Author, you could select the "skin/fur" sections of the wings (or create them); then fill with a foreground color to transparent. A look at a bat pic should give you enough of an idea to go from

Too dark. Can't make out the creature's shape, and the wings just look like blue twigs...

use some bluish tone on the edges to make it clear...i think it will help...GL

The dark part is accurate...It's hard to see the shape of the angel or the wing(s?), it's so dark. Just a few star clumps, and some bits and pieces of light objects scattered across. It looks like the "wing" on the RH side is exploding away from the arm, and that the angel has only one, incomplete leg...

This is a great concept. Perhaps if you reduce the highlight on the artist's left shoulder, arm and forearm of right side, he'll fit in a bit better. Also, I noticed a strange line in front of the ship...

I really really like the concept, however I think the artist seems a little harsh and out of place. But, overall, I like it a lot.

much better now.... flames in the "eyes" of the castle look identical maybe a tiny liquify fix to make it more realistic

I really like this ... I think what you did after Mossy's comment must have helped as I can see it clearly! It has a simple elegance to it and I think you should be happy with the final image. It is unique and clever! High marks for your individual approach!

Interesting work and I like your idea ... agree with the fellows above ... I also might suggest a few less stars and perhaps more variation in size. If you are using PS you can adjust the Scattering of your brush and the variation of size to get a more Star like look. If you need help just PM me.

interesting chop - i agree about the flames , (not emanating light) and the castle is in too much contrast so is not merging very good with the bridge
