Awesome mermaid! GL

Really nice image. If you brighten the left side of the rocks a bit more it'll match the strong highlight on the figure's right arm a bit more and give a bit more depth...imo. Great job, author!

Whoa, these guys are also going to the contest next door!!!

author says:

Thanks Erika.... I think they can do well here too... as well in the other contest. Even though, the other contest is having the aliens living among us... You have to use real people mixed with aliens, or aliens doing human chores.....

avatar taintedhockey

the aliens rnt matching in this picture. meaning they are too contrasted. plus the ufos are kinda weird looking. you can tell that you just lowered the opacity becuase you can see right through them and the trees look a bit funky (perhaps try lowering the fill not the opacity). unless that was ur intent. otherwise its interesting. haha gl

avatar erikuri
erikuri says:

I mean they are landing to meet someone...

author says:

Thanks for comment Add. I lowered the FILL on layer for UFO. I know they look kind of weird, I have not seen a real one, so I do not know how they really look. Same for the aliens.. They can be any thing......

avatar CorneliaMladenova

Cute dragonfly faced aliens

Thanks Cornelia....

The steampunk robots are coming...

Thanks to:
- Catherinette Rings Steampunk, Tinkerbots and christophercarfi @ Flickr.

The key words I used for research were "steampunk robots".

this would be really impressive if you actually made one of those robots, not just cut and paste them together. you can't really go wrong with 'steampunk robots' so good thinking try to remove the white outlines on the robots (especially the first one) , simple contracting will do. and i'm not sure i like the overall color and mood, a more colorful and vibrant one would be better imo

avatar DanLundberg

This has a lot of potential, but I have to agree with elficho. A more dramatic arrangement of elements with greater contrast in lighting and something in crisp focus would help a lot. To be blunt, this is uniformly bland.

Fantastic, everything blends in perfectly. Just a nitpick, the masking of the rocks is a little soft, try to sharpen the edges a little. GL !

author says:

Thanks Lamantine, fixed rock edges.

avatar CMYK46
CMYK46 says:

Good mood & color, but I don't think they had rubber tires back in the days of sailing ships. It would be a challenge to remove them, but would make the image more authentic.

author says:

Thanks CMYK46 for suggestion, I have removed all rubber tires .

moody moody moody... ... reminds me of Half Circle Sea hold from the Dragonsong series by Anne McKaffery (Dragon Riders of Pern)

The vignette is a bit to strong in my opinion but propably thats just me.

Very appealing image author!! I don’t know how much realism you want in this or you maybe just going for the visual element.....for me there is a bit to much light in the scene whether it be ambient light or not. maybe try taking the whole image down a couple of notches, then make the moon glow a bit, and possible the addition of a couple of lanterns on the pier to guide the ship in. Only suggestions maybe worth a play will leave it in your more than capable hands........

Very nice work Author

avatar Ressiv
Ressiv says:

Great mood! Nice rock formation. The lighting/shadows are a little weird. There are very strong shadows on the rocks, but they cast very soft shadows over the water. The casted shadows should also be that dark. The rocks of the contest source behind the pier have softer shadows on them then the big rock formation. You could make those shadows as dark as the big rock formation to fit the scene. I like the overall mood though! Good luck!
