Filters, Adjustments, Masks, Patterns, Fills, Liquify, and Transform. The powerful tools in Photoshop allow you to create without the ability to draw - IF you know how to use them.

The goal: To create an image using any and every manipulation tool available to you EXCEPT the Paintbrush tool. NO drawing, except for making selections, which you can then stroke or fill... Are you up to the challenge? Step by step is mandatory in this contest.

Hayato: Ha! This challenge might be intended for me... I'm eager to enter this with fang & claw. Since Brush is forbidden. So, let's see that I'm also able to do this. No cintiq, No intuos, No problem.

Contest Moderator: As I read the goal, your entries should only be using using the tools of your graphics program, with the exception of the paintbrush tool. So everything made from scratch, no photos, no images from tubes etc. ( 5 years and 2822 days ago )

Glockman: mod, What if one uses painter, there are a bunch of filters that are photo-realistic of all sorts of things, birds, plants ,fixtures ext ext. are they allowed ?? ( 5 years and 2821 days ago )

Contest Moderator: No Glockman, they are like the tubes that some programs use, and will not be allowed. If anyone submits something that looks very realistic, they will need to provide a detailed sbs, and I will ask for more detail to be provided if I am not satisfied. ( 5 years and 2820 days ago )

MossyB: Other members seem to have been able to create images without using the Paintbrush Tool, so evidently following the contest rules wasn't THAT hard to do. It doesn't matter in what mode the Paintbrush Tool is used, painting OR masking, this contest does not allow for it.

ANY tutorial or SBS can hopefully help other members "learn something useful," but to state it so aggressively does not encourage anyone to want to watch it, even for just entertainment value...

Anemonae desaturated and lowered brightness.

Picture was created by filling shapes created with tools other than the "paint brushes."Things like the selection tool rectangular and circular, shapes created with pen tool. Colors and gradient fills developed the depth along with dodge and burn tools for shading and lighting. Assorted filters for textures and layer styles along with blend and opacity corrections were used. (5 years and 2818 days ago)
