IDt8r: This wonderful photo was taken by EmiK, the 1st place winner in the Best Stock Photo contest. Well done, EmiK! ( http://www.pxleyes.com/photography-picture/4d82e7f05ad7d/Stone-Man.html ) (1 year and 57 days ago)
jbillitteri: I'm sorry MODS that you think my entry is far to minimal to be acceptable here. Guess I need to become more of a professional for the contest. Simple entries aren't a bad thing, especially when someone is learning. And, I couldn't red flag to you, because you took it down. (1 year and 57 days ago)
EmiK: Don't take it personally, I've had my entries removed oh say about 10 times for different reasons. We are all learning here, and I bet most members here had their entries removed at one time or another. (1 year and 57 days ago)
EmiK: And thank you IDt8r, I was truly surprised at taking first, and I would like to say that we had many wonderful entries in that contest, stock photos I would like to use in the future for sure. (1 year and 57 days ago)
mishti: Woow congrats Emik.!..I so much wanted this to win..this is a brilliant photo..Let give this a new life..! (1 year and 56 days ago)
EmiK: Thank you, and the funny thing is, as of yet, I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, lol. (1 year and 56 days ago)
Contest Moderator: @ jbillitteri as was explained to you in the notice you received, Rules and Guidelines state: "In a source contest it's mandatory to use the provided source image in your entry. Not only use it, but also manipulate it in some way." All you did was cut out the image of a tortoise and paste it on the contest source. Rules apply to all members regardless of their skill level. Look around at other entries and see the effort spent by the authors. You can learn a great deal from the many good members here but you have to do more than just cut and paste one image on another. woodztockr: Ok I think the MODS try to power play to much! I mean come on if it's just cut and paste... don't we all know and vote??????? Shouldn't be removed... someone could have gave advice to improve... but no it is just removed by the ... ahh ohhh no shall or can I say MOD!? Mod should be looking for copyright and leave the members alone to experiment and recieve comments and let the vote and comments rain down.... not just delete! "That's like... uuhhhh.. just your opinion man..." (The Dude, The Big Lebowski) (1 year and 54 days ago)
woodztockr: @ jbillitteri since the MOD already gave away your entry with the tortoise comment: go ahead and make a toroise out of the frame or make each rock inside the frame a tortoise or something similiar I will gave any entry with a tortoise my highest vote! (1 year and 54 days ago)
woodztockr: I think everyone must put a cut and paste tortoise in there entry now to make it far since the MOD... slipped up and made a public comment about a persons entry... that comment should have been private!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????? (1 year and 54 days ago)
downoffthedragon: I have to agree with woodztockr on this one. There are a lot of cut and pastes in these contests! The overall composition may be well thought out, and of course that makes a difference. I've seen the whole source image used and other things cut and paste to it! But if you don't give the author an opportunity to get feed back from other members, you don't give them a chance to make it better. Rules say source image has to be manipulated in some way. Placing a tortoise on the source image may not have been a manipulation, but feedback suce has "add a shaddow under the tortoise," or "change the color of the stone man to match the the lighting of the tortoise image" would have prompted a basic manipulation that a newbie could have handled.
