like the level of detail -- webs, the raven all great -- lighting is also nice
awesome job, very well done
I agree with alan..the level of detail is great..Good job author!
can't fault it too much, except with the light being in the distance and as harsh as it is... the light wouldn't be hitting the foreground as much as it is, so would be in more shade... unless of course there are two suns in which case it's perfectly justified :P!
Nice piece though!
Astounding detail.. the lighting is superb.
Beautiful entry very well crafted!
I love the color and the mood, we can feel the mushrooms texture. good luck author !

wow..uuuu, i love it!
Nice, but resolution of mushroom is too low for the rest of the image.
Thank you Nanaris And CMYK.. there's not much i can do about that.
btw if You want You can fallow Langstrum's tut....Step 7 - at the end see that loop is set to forever ..just little sbs enhancement
Nice work = )
sweet work ,good luck
The texture of this image is simply lovely. Nicely blended author.
very nice image, refreshing to see a snail instead of a fairy lol got my vote.
Your background is beautiful as well author
Fantastic job ! Very warm and soft mood. Well done as usual
I like. The shroom looks a little too unfocused in relation to the other elements. Nice work, though.
I love the harmony feeling on your work, splendid performance.
love the colour harmony bw shroom and snail author, sanil belongs there very much..
lil nitpicking author, if the mushroom is backlit on rt side, so should be the snail... even if the effect is subtler..
correct me if am wrong...
Lovely work and very well chosen subject. Definitely draws the viewer in ... GREAT composition!
great result author...well done
Congrats for your second place, Matteo!
Lovely - congrats on second place!
congrats on your second place..... nice image...
This is beautiful, congrats
Always wanted to try a 'mushroom house' concept... so here it is... hope you like it cause I do! :P
better viewed HighRes I think (5 years and 1739 days ago)
This is sweet! Nice magical feeling very well done! Excellent SBS as well!
Wonderful result, and an excellent use of the source! And even though the concept of a mushroom house is a little dated, this entry looks amazing.
From your SBS it looks like you spent a lot of time on the mushroom guy you created, but he's not too visible in the final image, i suggest brightening that up a little to make him pop out some more.
Thanks Spaceranger; nishagandhi... (thanks for the fave by the way!! :p)
Ponti55, initially I wanted the mushroom man to be there as something you 'just' see coming into the light, overlooking his house ('coming home')... but... after the jpeg save... he did look a little darker than the psd... so I lightly erased the vignette to boost him up a little... it's only very slight but anymore and ill have to illuminate the foreground more which I'm trying not to do.... however I'm sure you don't want to read the explanation... just to know that I took your advice LOL!!!!...
Good suggestion ponti55, slight change really makes a nice enhancement. Author your explanation is most helpful in understanding your thoughts in creating this fine work.
I love the lighting on this one. Guides the eyes. :0
Very cute, but the mushroom house is too angled on the hill.
MossyB: Subsidence... (it's a fantasy world... normal perceptions don't exist... ...)
Wonderful work and an excellent sbs, well done
It's really lovely!!
good experimantation on lighting... i wonder how the mushroom man will fit into tht hut, esp with his big hat.. well done author...
@pearlie: haha.. tht could be the solution pearlie...
Cool little 'shroom house! I like that crooked chimney, very Tim Burton/storybook looking. Very nice work, author. How the man fits in there? Why, I'll bet he eats a little bit of the 'shroom and "gets small"........
Love the whole image ... your Mushroom guy is wonderful and I noticed him and got the whole feeling of coming home. The atmosphere you have created with a few mushrooms and some magical lighting is ... well, magical! Extremely excellent work!
Lovely trolls' abode
Congrats for your third place, James!
Congrats!! Really love it!
... and as Alice bit the mushroom found herself among 7 strange dwarfs, who were looking at her with curiosity and fear. Where did their Snow-white gone? (5 years and 1738 days ago)
good work,and good luck
This is lovely, beautiful image, great choice of colors... wonderful job
Really cute scene, great use of source!
how adorable!!!! Great idea!
I think me making a fairy image was long overdue.

The wings need a lot of work.
(Actually right now there's only one wing...).
Compare it to the original image of the model.
Author, are you really content to just leave it that way?
If you give me a suggestion on how to improve them, then i won't.
LOL...improve the image...add another wing! (It's a pretty sucky source, at least as far as the single wing goes).
Lovely mood. I'm not sure about the teensy leaves -- or are those just giant mushrooms with a near-human-size fairy? The single-wing-fairy source is kind of weird. (The dorsal fin of a shark comes to mind.) Butterflies certainly rest with their two wings together, but those wings aren't lacy as here so we can't know if they perfectly align as they apparently do here. In any event, it is customary to expect a fairy to have a pair of wings. One option would be to make a copy of the wing and position it behind and to the right of and slightly lower than the current wing as if it were attached to her far shoulder blade. Some brightness or hue adjustments might be necessary to make the two wings distinct from each other. Another option would be to replace the wing with a set of wings from a new source.
you are so good ,but the winges need some work
very sweet, fata incantata the title what does it means?
Alright then.. added a second wing.
Dan: I like the presence of the leaves in the image, even if it may conflict with the size that people might imagine when thinking of fairies. If i do get more negative comments on the leaves i'll remove them.
Nanaris: I really couldn't think of an apt title so i just went for "Enchanted Fairy" in italian
I like the effects on the image, the glow of it is very welcoming.
VERY NICELY DONE! Tones,shading... all looks really serene.
Fantastic blending, well done author.
Just a comment on the wings. As if you haven't heard enough. The original source actually has two wings it is just that at the angle she is sitting you cannot see the 2nd wing. This happens sometimes ... I have hundreds of photo's of birds with (what appears) only 1 wing!
I did not see it before you added the second wing (wish I had, it would be nice to compare) but just thought a little support in that area might be appreciated.
I think, sometimes, especially with magical images, there has to be some artistic license. Not that I am faulting the critiques (they are all well thought out and presented) but it is nice just to sit back and enjoy an image as it stands; try to appreciate it and visualize it as the artist did when creating the piece. It is nice to let go of the rules and fly ... sometimes!
