The effect has been achieved by taking the panoramic shot vertically, and chose Cylinder format when being merged 
Um.. thats ok. You can still buy me one for christmas! I HAVE been a good girl this year despite what others might say
This is simulated HDR, using post processing techniques. Cool image, though.
