The goal of this theme is very simple. Take a creative closeup shot of a human face. The face has to cover 80% of the photo and, apart from hats, jewelry, glasses, etc... no other objects can be present.

friiskiwi: I see some lovely portraits recently uploaded, also showing hnds, I for one, imagined that would be off theme. Considering these are the first we have seen, I imagine many other felt the same. (164 days ago)
MarcosSanchez: My main doubt, hair is also part of the face? I think not ... I agree it is difficult to measure footprint of a photo, but if we remove the hair also some photos here does not reach 40%, let alone 80% (163 days ago)
itsmymoment: The problem with that, is if hats are allowed, then hair too? if NOT wearing a hat...herein lies the dilemma when contest rules are suggested that are somewhat vague... (163 days ago)
kyricom: I think what the theme is looking for are predominantly faces, allowing things that are in close proximity to it. A hat or some hair would be in close proximity. If I had hair to my waist (anymore)
