Backyard Bugs - Photography Contest [62 entries]

Get out in the yard or nearby woods and show us your best shot of a creepy, crawly or flying bug or insect. One catch to this theme is that no dragonflies are allowed as we have had contests for this particular insect several times in the past, besides it's hard to beat a cool shot of a dragonfly with a spider shot no matter how cool! Also, no captured bug or insect! Must be shot in its natural habitat! Have fun and don't get bitten or stung!!
If your shot is a really close-up macro, please add a photo to the SBS, that show it was taken outside.

To me butterflies would be on topic, but I can't be sure, and we have had butterfly contests.
