Contest goal:
Always wanted to be "King or Queen of PXL" ? this is your chance!
This tournament runs for 4 weeks, week 1 is 'open for all', which means everyone can enter. Week 2 only the top 16 members of week 1 will be able to participate, week 3 the top 8 members of week 2 and in week 4 the top 4 members of week 3. The winner of round 4 will be crowned king or queen of Pxleyes! This final round's winner will be awarded with $100!

This week's theme is: motion blur
The objective is to get either the object blurry from motion or everything but the main subject blurred from motion. You have to have something in focus, like a runner in focus, but everything else blurry from motion... or the other way around: the runner blurry from motion, but the background clear.
Motion blur is the apparent streaking of rapidly moving objects in a still image, in other words... if there is no obvious streaking then it will be considered to be blurred due to bokeh or Depth of field.

robvdn: To clarify: the top 16 members will go to the round 2. So even if your highest placed entry ends 25th in this contest you still have a chance to be in the top 16 members.

Lelaina: Mark, because everyone can submit 3 entries, it can be that several people have more than one entry in the "top 16". They can only get one place in the next round of course, so in this example, someone who has the 25th place can still go through. It's about the top 16 members, not the top 16 entries. I hope that's understandable

Contest Moderator: After much deliberation between Mods, we have concluded that the true nature of this contest is to capture objects that are moving.. not camera movement. This means that objects in the shot must be in motion and not just due to movement of the camera or lens. Therefore, your subject, whatever it is HAS to be in motion...moving the camera or lens is NOT having the subject in motion, that is called "kinetics" or taking a 'blurry' photo by moving the camera, not the subject...kinetic photos are off-theme for this contest. kyricom: Just a clarification, please. It's on theme as long as the subject is in motion? But the camera can move too, right? For example, you could use panning to follow an object in motion, thus creating "blur." For that, the camera would be moved too, but the subject is in motion. That's ok, right?
