You say true rufkut, I had the same.
The image looks fantastic. Best of Luck!author.

avatar GarethWaring

Like how you've kept the original colour of the statue as your theme colour and adapted the rest. Gives your image a real natural feel about it.

avatar EmiK
EmiK says:

I never thought about that guy "crotch gazing", lol. I like the guy there, looks like he has come across an old civilization and is about to discover a whole lost city behind him. I like how you utilized the tree pollen and turned it in to snow here.

avatar Disco
Disco says:

Nobody ever tells you.....SBS please! Just wondering why?.....

author says:

Disco, my images (in my opinion) are usually self explanatory.. just blending sources and masking. If you take the time to look at the sources that i used individually, you can usually see what it is that i;ve done.

Thank you all for your comments and favourites!

avatar Disco
Disco says:

OK. Thanks for the answer, but I thought they were obligatory? (pardon spelling if it's wrong!)

author says:

No not at all Disco.. SBS is preferred, but unless the source is totally unrecognisable an sbs is usually unnecessary. Most people prefer to see a step by step guide (i'm just lazy)

avatar Lelaina
Lelaina says:

A SBS in a source contest is mandatory, when only the given source image was used (doesn't matter if it is unrecognisable or not). If external sources were used, it's not mandatory, but mods can always ask for one (in case there is something unclear). The author here used external sources, so a SBS is not needed.

Great job, author! You are really good in creating a mood and telling stories with your entries. But I told you that before
Good luck!

You asked for suggestions? I have one: Give up some of your talent to those of us who can't do this great of work! We would love you for it!
Excellent job with feel and mood here author.
(although I agree with CMYK about moving the subject just a little bit for the same reasons he gave)

this work is verry verry verry over rated ... imho this work don't express anything ...like as many many many other works.... by this author!!!!...i don't want to offend anyone ... that is my opinion and i think i allowed to express that!!!!...btw author!!!...gl

no avatar

Wow, I hope you are kidding there genuine2009. Because if you are not, you not only offended the author, but did so with malice and for no good reason.
I assume you have gone head to head with this author and probably got your ass kicked enough for you to say something like you did?

avatar EmiK
EmiK says:

Of course you can express your opinion genuine2009. But anyone can do that. How about trying some constructive criticism. If you think this work doesn't express anything, then what would you change so that it does. It doesn't sound to me like you are here to help. Or maybe this site is just not on your level. There is a really nice site here http://www.cgsociety.org/. Good luck there.

avatar genuine2009

LOL......i have my opinion about that...emiK....that is my opinion about author....and i don't change anything about that!!!...and btw emik....i don't need help!!! thx but no thx..enjoy your site!.. btw ...you are the author's lawyer?

author says:

Are all the 3D renders getting to your head Genuine? Relax.. i'm just having a good time here. Besides, if you ever need to voice your opinion contact me privately with something CONSTRUCTIVE. Simply saying my work is meaningless helps nobody, mainly because i won't stop entering contests because you get cranky.

Thanks Randy and thanks EmiK, your continuing support is very encouraging.

are you mad author?...ok....smile!!!! ... tomorrow will be worse!!!....you'll become an artist...great artist!!!....I forgot the quotes.....

LOL some comment Drama !!!! Great image SbS would have been nice. G/L

avatar Warlock
Warlock [banned] says:

Do I dare comment after all these.......concept and image are good but IMHO the snow looks a bit ragged and off colour (gray) snow settles very evenly and builds very quickly, so I would expect to see more on the top of the hat, brim and creases. There is also IMO only a small amount of defused light in the scene most of what you see is reflected light from the environment so the shadows would be almost nonexistent.

avatar Poss
Poss says:

Wow. great work author as usual. I would have made the little guy a silhouette of the big guy. Like he's looking at his past or something, but this is my favorite.

Tried that for several times, and it does not look good with too much depth. I kinda like it this way, gives it somewhat silver look, thx for the constructive comment.

Reflections are bad...they wouldn't have reflections in rough water like that anyway...flames look a bit out of scale. Interesting idea, though.

I am always trying new things and trying to extend my knowledge. Thanks CMYK wont get time to fix this one but can take on board your feedback for next time. Thanks for your comment youri

avatar greymval
greymval says:

I like the lava-water and the colors. Some red light reflected on the metal of the robots would make them more integrated. For reflections in rough water use Displacement maps, but in this case you must be carefull or lucky with the blending mode, to make it look good.

avatar CorneliaMladenova

Wow! Cute aliens and love the color of the water!

Thanks to two of GolemAura's lovely photos of Zen gardens, I saw the perfect place for these pretty little dolls. The hanging flowers are from my own photo, and the flowers in their hair are created from the group of dolls. (See SBS) (5 years and 3509 days ago)

This made me laugh. I like the reflections too...but the reflection has more detail showing in its tailfin than the actual fish. What happened to the top of the tailfin?

EDIT: Understood author! Makes sense...really funny image!

author says:

Happy you got a giggle out of this. The full length of the fish is half out of the water. That was my intent to make it look like a tall tale. About the clearer details of the tail under water, well... there are less ripples on the water.
