I don't really get what you're mad about:
- comments discouraging authors ?
-stock sites that want you to pay? ( like those bastards from photoexpress who no longer give free stocks to new users)
- this site's guidelines ?
- the grammar of the English language ? ( you should see French grammar!)

Yup, it's dark, alright...
Considering this IS a competition site, nothing but "woo hoo, it's WONDERFUL!" comments sure wouldn't help people improve their skills much, now would it? Only those not wanting to improve would be discouraged by any criticism...
