The small monkeys are fighting against the emperor of Ape (King Warhammer Gorilla :D, you can see him running behind the Mecha, sorry for the author of King Warhammer, I just made the blur shadow of him, just to make the story ^^). They developed a machine call the Monkey Mecha, protecting them in the battle and become the best fighter on the Planet of Ape ^^.
Only the monkey is the external source from stupid-dancer (deviantart). The rest was done by drawing (you can see detail in the SBS, it took me 4 days to finish).

i like step 16 in the sbs... what happened then... looks a little blurrry... I think it is the background that distractic the awesome work... Still my favorite... Reply »

Thank you for your comments ^^. @hereinsanoop: you're right, it's because of the background and the color filter, also the lighting on the armor made it blur. However, it's drawing so it's hard to make the sharp image. I will consider the background and the filter, maybe change them a bit.

I can make more details in the SBS but this is technically easy. For the drawing, I start from the solid color, paint over the sketch (soft brush, high opacity and flow), then paint different layers for the dark color with soft brush, low opacity and flow. The last step is highlighting and because it's metal, this made the realistic look. For the monkey head, it's more complicated. I make the two layer above the monkey layer, paint the dark around the head, draw the fur with small and hard brush, then make the top layer with highlight as you see. Reply »
