No external images used, cut out pieces and clone them, did some drawing and applied texture from source. A lot of blurring and masking , smoke brushes for final effect. (5 years and 3840 days ago)

What a unique use of the image!
It's an interesting piece. Some of the parts look choppy and have some unsmoothed edges in high res. I'm not sure if that's the look you were going for but I would definitely suggest centering it more, with or without the other suggestion improvements.
