Contest goal:

This tournament runs for 4 weeks, week 1 is 'open for all', which means everyone can enter. Week 2 only the top 16 members of week 1 will be able to participate, week 3 the top 8 members of week 2 and in week 4 the top 4 members of week 3. The winner of round 4 will be crowned king or queen of Pxleyes! This final round's winner will be awarded with $100!

Week 2, 3 and 4 will be posted on Thursdays but will be opened for entries on Sundays after the previous round is closed, when the next participants are known. If you participate, be aware you might have to re-enter next rounds too!

Rounds 2, 3 and 4 will have 2 reserve players each. These will be the 2 runners up of the previous round, in the list with names who are allowed to enter their names will be followed by "(reserve 1 or 2)".
Reserves are allowed to enter their entry whenever they want BUT be aware:
if all qualified members for that round enter: ALL the entries by the reserves will by removed when the contest goes into voting. If one or two qualified members fail to enter one or two reserves are allowed to stay in the contest when the contest turns into voting.
Those removed entries will be allowed in the Mixed Media (or other fitting) contests later on.

This week's theme is: Animorph 2
We often see photos showing the evolution of apes transforming into human beings step by step. That's what you'll have to do in this contest; but its not limited to human and apes. You can actually choose any 2 animals from the large variety of species we have on Earth and show the different processes by which one of the animals changes to become the other animal.

For example, if you choose an elephant and a bird, you should show the different steps by which the elephant will first decrease in size, get wings, get a beak, till its completely a bird. And don't forget that the first animal and the last animal in the process must be totally different from each other; that means that you can't combine them to create another species.
So you would show the elephant source image then a minimum of three steps of change and the final bird source image. This can be done side by side or in a portrait format stacking one image over the other. A high res image posting is advisable.

Reserves are allowed to enter their entry at any point in this round, if at closing time one or more qualified members did not enter the entries of the reserves will be allowed to go into the voting period. Reserve 1 will be allowed to stay when 1 qualified member does not enter, reserve 2 will also be allowed to stay if 2 qualified members do not enter.

samanway: Is it important that the first and the last character be real photo , can it be also be painted into recognisable animal ? Any help would be appreciated ! ( 5 years and 2536 days ago )

Contest Moderator: To the finalists (and all others who will participate in future tournaments): we mods know, that it takes a lot of time to make an entry and it's understandable, that a lot of entries are uploaded on Friday, shortly before the contests are going to "vote only", but please keep in mind, that we also have to mod them. This means: if there is a problem with a source you used, but you uploaded your entry 1 or 2 hours before the contest closes, there is no chance for us, to write a warning so you can correct it in time.
So please upload it as soon as possible, so there is no frustration over removed entries which could have been easily fixed, if there would have been enough time.

I'd like to thank ozecha for his wonderful stock picture.

(the whole title is "How did the chicken cross the river" but it was too long)

I have to admit this was hard. I'm not even sure I completely understood what I was supposed to do. Any advice, tips or suggestions are highly appreciated.
