U did great job author...with few minor tweaks this can be perfect...Mikael is right about upper right part and maybe u could use smudge tool to create few hairs that out of the hair line to achieve more natural and realistic look...also just an idea maybe u could create thing that Japanese woman do with the lipstick just in the middle of the lips... I contemplated giving her the "full Geisha" makeup, with the snow white foundation, and Geisha "experience" shape (did you know that the size and shape - top, bottom, or both) signify the age and experience of the Geisha?), but felt that would be too far from the "ethnicity."

Hair is SUCH a complicated thing to chop well. Too smooth and it looks cut and paste...I gave her some loose hairs on the RH side, but the ones on the left just didn't look natural...I'll try again.

great job on the girl love it! It I want to be picky I see that the background looks a bit unnatural. First of all there aren't any shadows under the trees and secondly, more important in my point of view, the very closeup of the face does not allow the background to be in focus. It's unnatural to the human eye, if I look at somethin that close, I see the background out of focus. Reply »

It's an "HDR" (High Definition Resolution) shot, so the focus is the same near and far, and the photographer was using a strong umbrella reflector light, so the trees had no shadow...

uhm, HDR has nothing to do with the focus, it simply means bringing out details in the very dark and very light areas, thus producing an image with rich details in all light levels. Just for clarification. Reply »

Doesn't look as natural compared to what? The original Caucasian? I looked at several pictures of pure black African women (not mixed race blacks) to determine the differences between Caucasian and Negroid features before making the changes I did. A criticism of the jaw angle would be appropriate - I don't feel I have that quite right; it doesn't protrude enough.

Mossy, I thought of you as I dealt with the eyes! I actually toned them down and "grayed" the whites from the original, believe it or not. They are not brightened in any way. Just darkening the skin made the eyes pop. I'll try to over compensate some more. Reply »

The new her looks very South Asian. [Needs to be viewed in hi-res to evaluate properly, IMO.] Her face seems darker than her body, however—and her left-shoulder highlight seems a tad too strong. Also, I don't get why her pearls and shadow also changed along the way (and what is that rain-drop-shaped blotch in the upper left corner?). the problem with conversion is that certain facial features are unique for certain ethnicity.. change the skin-tone technique is great... but if you can up that by changing the features to look like a black lady... it would be fantastic

Ethnicity goes beyond making the skin dark and the white of the eyes too bright...

with only her skin darkened, she could be Indian. IF in fact the author wanted her to look black/african-american, the nose would probably have to be widened a touch and the lips larger. The way it is though, she looks Indian/Persian or something like that. She is beautiful and the shading is wonderful. Reply »

Sorry author, but no. You've made some color adjustments to Obama's skin, resulting in a weird pinkish patch on the side of his nose and his cheek, and have lost some of the cyan tones on the face, while keeping them on his ears..."Bad complexion" is one thing, inconsistent coloring is another.

As for the hand drawn hair, it looks it. There is no skin visible at all beneath the eyebrows - Even the thickest hair shows small bits of the face along the edges - and the color of the hair on the head (as well as the eyebrows) shows far too little gray to correspond with the basically white beard...
