As an addition the the photography I would like to add that according to traditional beliefs when an elephant's trunk is pointed upwards that means good things are coming in the future and happiness is relevant and when its trunk is pointing down then negative consequences are likely. Elephant Soup Tureen - created by jeaniblog
A Great-Aunt found this in a junk shop in a blackened condition. She polished it up & eventually we inherited it. I think it must have originated in India during the British Raj (1857-1947). It's either a soup turren or a punch bowl. (5 years and 3031 days ago)
