Not for nothing known as Pesto Genovese ...
Difficult (not impossible) to find Pinoli here in Brazil, very expensive, sometimes we choose other nuts, but the essence remains.
In the state where I live there was a very large Italian immigration, and with the passing generations, pizza and pasta are part of the daily life of Sﾃδ｣o Paulo ...

pine nuts you can substitute chopped nuts, but I think the problem is the basil.
outside our territory, even in Italy, the basil plants are very nice, but the leaves too fragrant. a bit 'as some wines when changing area.
but it will be a nice sauce

Here we can find several types of basil, my wife even has a vase at home with three types (which can not only supply a Pesto sauce, otherwise it ends up). Have no way to compare it with a genuine Genovese, but still allows it to be one of my favorites ...
Normally I enjoy a greater amount of sauce, and drizzled with quite olive oil ... I did this after the photo session, and ate ...
Made me hungry.
Looking at it today after several days, me too...
I'd like to taste the Pesto Genovese "in loco". Meanwhile, even though it is possible to do it with good quality local products. Tastes great with pasta, or even with toast. Any time I will take a picture for you too.
