These leaves (Sea Grape) in Florida were once used as writing paper in Old Florida. (You can still use them today, but you have to place them in a plastic bag with a stamp to mail them). I've tried to write on them but the only thing that works is a Sharpie marker. I can only imagine how you would write on them with quill and pen. (363 days ago)

author says: I just cropped it in the shape of a barbell. The small cluster of leaves one side and the large leaf the other side connected with the hurricane trunk. Sea Grape Leaves get some amazing colors as they recycle, they go completely cardboard brown when they reach the end of the life cycle. The Purple, yellow, and reds only last for a short while
