In this particular shot it was cloudy and no moon so the sky didn't stand out against the bright town lights. Also messing with contrast and exposure after the shot can make quite a difference. To get longer exposures during the day I use nuetral density filters like a solid 3 stop and a graduated filter on top to filter the sky even more Reply »
