I like the shot..........but I agree, it does look staged..........
What do you mean by staged? I am assuming you mean I brought the chair out there and if that is the case then no, it was not staged. The chair was there when me and my model got there. But please explain "staged" thanks.
ah, exactly the point....your model! the trouble is, it LOOKS staged, there is no real feeling here, it doesn't reach out that way.
Looks like it's been purposely set up rather than conveying any real feeling of desolation or loneliness.
Ok, why is that bad? I've seen several entries that have been staged as well but I don't see why that's bad.
nobody said it is bad!............only that it appears staged..........no realism in it! Yes, some of the other shots here have been staged, and you can see that too, and also they are suffering fromt the same problem. But, some of them have that little bit extra, that little something that makes it feel Real!
I think part of the "staged" impression comes from the nonverbal aspect of the hands. Someone that distraught would probably have their fingers THROUGH their hair, not on top of it.
I think if you say "It's Staged" please include "That's just my opinion"
yes,...........that would certainly have conveyed more realism here.
I like the image a lot and think this conveys a lot of emotion. As far as staged goes , I think some people just like to be critical for the sake of being critical. Everything is "staged"! The whole world is a stage. But when you are an Artist such as yourself that is capturing and conveying something that is uncomfortable why the critics come a screaming. All they are saying is you touched a part of them they wont admit too. The more critics the better the work. Have a nice day.
