As I said ' My wife snapped a photo of me with my pants down on her Smart pone' Yes, while I was doing this shot on my DSLR!!!! Remote trigger with ambient and two fill lights is how this shot was achieved.

IMO this is not selective colouring, but has been desaturated by channels, something that is allowed, as any desaturation done is done to the whole image. Reply »

sorry, I did not understand. Desaturate it with channels, but no mask or otherwise does not save a color. an explanation would be appreciated

I took 2 layers, black and white on bottom, color on top. Then I just flicked through layer settings of the colored one.
