kyricom: It would seem that the "sun" itself, in a sunset, would not be "backlighting" but would be the light that provides backlighting. The clouds, objects etc that are in front of the sun are what would be backlit. ( 5 years and 3109 days ago )
Contest Moderator: The sunset can provide back lighting, but there should be another subject of focus to be back lit...and trees are indeed large plants and should not be the main focus of the image. ( 5 years and 3109 days ago )
xsingthesorrowo: and yet another submission flagged for removal, I had a tree in my entry but it was not the main focus. I wonder why I get irritated by this site and dont use it for months at a time. 8 Entries removed in the past 2 weeks because people like to nit pick. You have people winning with photos that look like they were taken with a cell phone, absolutely NO technical skill or any knowledge of composition, yet you have people losing, some of which their photos should most likely be hanging in an art museum somewhere. xsingthesorrowo: xogx2002- yea rules are rules, but when they are entirely to vague, and the mods cant clarify on the matter at hand until a couple days later that is pretty inconvenient. And YES it is a competition, and the best should win, the BEST. I am not saying everyone needs or can afford a great camera but someone with an OK picture that looks like it was taken with a cell phone. Politics... I win my fair share and I lose my fair share, and I am ok with losing, but when I do lose and look at who won and I am stumped as to why, I get a little irritated, along with some of my stuff getting flagged and removed, when there are tons of others "breaking" the same "rules" ( 5 years and 3108 days ago )
kyricom: Welcome chrisstegner! If you look at the horozontal menu bar near the top of the page you'll see a link called "My Stuff." Click on that, and then go down and click on "My Contest Entries" (not "My Contests"
