continue to liquify and then Gaussian blur the word

more liquifying so it looks like fire and blur some more

use the word burn in black and put layer under (blurred red burn layer) keep layer normal mode

you will get this sharp corners of the word covered with the blur fire

merge the red blurred word with the black word and then use hue/saturation to get proper color
step 9 of 9
for "fade away" just use a black brush and paint over some of the word at an opacity of maybe 35%-45%
