In this contest, your goal is to create a ransom note. In most cases, the kidnapper will make a note with many pieces cut out from magazines and newspapers to make sure it’s untraceable. Is there a person whom you don’t really like and maybe wanted to give him a punch in the nose, but the moral values were on the way? Here’s your chance! In this contest your goal is to take a picture of a normal looking person and… kick its butt! That’s right, show us black eyes, busted noses, swollen lips, etc. Your source must be a source that has NO signs of already having been beaten and can not be directed to any PXL members. Other than that… just how convincing can you make it look? Good Luck!

This contest is both a technical and creative excercise; your goal is to find a source (can be object, human or animal) and reflect it in water. Your source this may not be in the water allready. Another requirement is that your subject in the final image needs to be partly in the water. A good reflection isn’t just flipping the source and giving it ripple effect, there’s more to it. The angle of the source object in the water is slightly different, which means you look under the object as well. Be careful at how you place your source in the water, because a 3D shape in water needs to have a 3D cuttingline where it hits the water as well. Furthermore water is transparant so you’ll have to make sure we can still see that part of the object which is underwater. One more restriction in this contest is that you are not allowed to use any kind of filter to produce the ripple effect of the reflection. Have fun and hopefully you’ll learn some new tricks. A Step by step is MANDATORY in this contest, showing how you have made your reflection.
