I've done an sbs, but I am aware that I did lots of little bits of tweaking, and going back and forth as I went along, that haven't been documented. Hopefully the sbs shows the main steps, though. (5 years and 2981 days ago)
I felt a bit awkward posting this entry, as someone else has already done this idea. However, as I had already done quite a bit of work on it by the time I saw the other entry I decided to go ahead and put it up, anyway. I figure someone will tell me if similar ideas aren't allowed.
That being said, the entry kind of speaks for itself!

Inspired by the Bottle City of Kandor from the Superman Comics. Used source, with various PS brushes and filters. And the screw fitting of a different light bulb from SXC.
(I am listing two images as "reference only". Because the original material was a comic, part of my reference/inspiration came from a drawn image. I hope this is allowed? I found two versions of the coffee cup on SCX, one version with bubbles from coffee being poured in and the same cup without the pouring. Melded the two to get a bubbly surface. Also, tilted cup straight, then added in a bit more diffuse grey background.
Sourced a hand, cropped and placed in the middle of the bubbles. Added some more bubbles around the wrist, by duplicating, clipping and flipping a few times. Also used 'multiply' on some of the layers until was happy with the look. Added in some stream by drawing a few lines with big soft brush, then smudging back and forth with different sized brushes, doing this over a few layers, and changing the transparency in places.
Added in the shadow from the fingers. Added in the lettering at the end.

Not as much 'cat' as the other entries, but I thought, 'Oh, well, why not?' lol
Base photo of woman's back, cat's whiskers duplicated several times, cropped, edited and flipped, then overlayed with a 'hard light' filter. Various tweaking of 'hue and saturation' plus using some of the brickwork to add texture to the woman's back.
Edited to say: have tweaked image based on comment about the overall darkness - have lightened image a bit, then copied and flipped the left hand side of the woman and blended it into the right, to give more of an idea of the form. The original final image is still in the sbs if you want to compare and contrast. (5 years and 3003 days ago)

This is very striking author, and if this would have been available to me when I worked for GRAPHIK's (it has since become Wentworth Galleries) I would have sold the living (BLEEP) out of it in all the art deco Condos in South Beach... it's very wonderful and has a magnificent feel.. GOOD LUCK.. (think about sending the finished image to a banner printer.. (the stuff they do for sport teams) 5 feet tall would be awesome... (Imagine this in the entryway of one of the erte' hotels near the Fountain Bleau... WOOO HOOOO)
