Wow! Cute aliens and love the color of the water!

I like the lava-water and the colors. Some red light reflected on the metal of the robots would make them more integrated. For reflections in rough water use Displacement maps, but in this case you must be carefull or lucky with the blending mode, to make it look good.

Reflections are bad...they wouldn't have reflections in rough water like that anyway...flames look a bit out of scale. Interesting idea, though.

Might want to be careful with your edges. The outlining looks a bit hasty. If you come in a bit with your edges and soften them...it will most definitely help.

you are perfectly allowed to chop the photo. All the guidelines say is to "make a photo in black in white" which means chops are allowed.

very very very funny.. on a side note.. if you could make the figure look less girlie (the figure looks very femine though that could be me) my sister had the highboots,flare jacket and used to have her pony tail out the back) though it may be just because the top shoulder is a bit blurry causing the ponytail effect.. great humor.. high marks from me

while this is a very emotional piece... You could make the message even clearer if you changed the chair into a rocking chair and made the knife less commercial looking,, (a dagger would be more emotional then a serrated steak knife and a rocker would connect the baby with the rocking heart.. but this is your vision.. so TAKE THIS ONLY AS A SUGGESTION... if this is the vision you wanted.. then by all means stick with it..
