I agree with the masking, and not just the white parts, but the cut outs are way to "tight", try feathering the edges. The spacial/size relationships are really strange, and if you're going for a surreal/ weird thing on purpose you may want to exaggerate more, otherwise it looks like a mistake. If not, the squirrels are HUGE compared to the girl, and the swan/boat etc are all the wrong sizes, to relate to each other. Fun imagination though!

whats that she's got in her hand? >.> and i'm with cmyk. not just about the boat but the white edges. you've got a few around a couple of teh sources you used. the reflections aren't quite right...although, i'm not very versed in how to do them properly, i just work til i have what i want. :lol: the little pond in the foreground should be reflecting the sky that is above, not the blue sky it seems to be reflecting now. :P

Try to fix the white edges on the girl. The top of the boat wouldn't be visible in the reflection.

most likely you ran across someone on flickr who used that tutorial. The similarities are too many to be considered mere chance, but it doesn't mean that you used that tutorial

It wasn`t an accusation, tutorials are there to be used an learn from....however your image is so very close to the tutorial that it should atleast be mentioned if for no other reason than to give the author of the tutorial recognition for "their" idea.

The light is so diffused in the background that the shadow looks out of place. I think it might look better without it.
Also the edges on her left still have some light blue that stand out even in the low res version.

Just a suggestion - After looking this image in high resolution I have noticed it have few white edges near hand. If you can fix that It will look nicer

There's a tutorial similar to the apple and lion, if you used that tutorial be sure to credit it.

I suggest rotating the wings a little bit counter-clockwise to match with the shape of her body.
