I'm surprised this didn't place higher

it must be the gaussion blurring that makes it look like it is painted. it is weird because even the mask is lopsided. this is a great job, being a real photo.

I've been wrong before, but I just don't get how you did this. When I looked at the high resolution, which now seems to be gone for some reason, it sure looked like this was all painted on. It didn't even look like any of it was a photo. How can there be a torch behind the mask if the models head is behind the mask?

where on lake superior is this? I have gotten some amazing photos up north!

I guess thats why the lomo cameras are expensive even though they were supposedely made super cheap....they have such bad quality, that they make the photos interesting. So, this is kind of like lomography

Do you have some kind of filter over this? I know Lake Superior can give off spectacular colors in the skies, but didn't know it could make the sand green and pink too.

This is just my opinion, but I think the colors would pop out more if you adjusted the white balance. this is a bit yellow.

can I give a suggestion? The lighting is nice and the subject is too. How about putting the bowl on something a few feet away from the sheet, then zoom into the subject so that the background is blurred, and try getting the whole bowl in the shot but keep it at the corner like you have it. The wrinkles in this sheet really throw it off, but I think you can make this a great shot with just moving the items farther from the background.

I see the person, but hardly noticed him at first. The picture as a whole is great...love the lighting as usual too

In my opinion, the detail in the hands is almost too much...kind of creepy in a way. If the detail in the hands weren't there, it would be awesome, powerful and romantic. It is just kinda creepy to me, almost as if seen by the eyes of a vampire.

I think this is a great shot! I don't think the dress plays as much role as it should in this theme, but I think it is still on topic and should not be removed. Voters....just vote accordingly...you know, add or subtract points for key things like: quality of photo, composition, on theme, general pleasing to the eye, etc. etc.

I think this would be awesome if you did this: duplicate layer, add gaussion blur, bring opacity down some. It is done as a whole, so it should be legal here. It would make this dreamy fairy like.

There's something about this photo's colors that I love. The colors and softness to it almost remind me of porcelain.

this would have been neat if you had stood just to the left a bit more, so that the building wouldn't be in the picture- just the lampost and the sky - and then maybe try turning it to black and white
