According to the guidelines, "show us some awesome pictures of fast food. It can be burgers, fries, nuggets, chicken sandwiches, chili from Wendy's or anything you like that comes from a fast food place. " is this about the fast food or more about the child who appears to be the subject? Although a decent 'snap'...it's more of a portrait IMHO

Sorry Author, while I understand your reasoning here, Mark is correct, the DOF is so shallow, the entire image seems a bit on the soft side. Perhaps a bit more lighting and distance between the subjects and a tad higher f/stop and you can increase the DOF and bring better attention to where you see the need for it. Having so much of the image OOF just isn't working here IMHO

Author, to create a more "Abstract" effect, maybe crop out the shore line on the top? I think it may better then fit the title you gave. Nice entry though

NP Author...I know you probably used extension tubes to shoot this, which require you to get VERY close to the subject, not allowing much light between the lens and subject, if you want to know how to light this particular type situation, drop me a PM and I can give you some better tips.

Nice composition and complimentary color Author, but the photo is a bit flat, lacking a decent amount of light, perhaps try using a bit more natural light and a reflector to get good light and definition in the future. Macros and close-ups are notoriously hard to light well.

Nicely done...love this image, the bright red dress pops nicely against the hard surroundings.

Nice Back ground, but I might suggest cropping the image so the flower is more towards the lower right third (rule of thirds) instead of centered...it would make for a much more interesting photo

The action you caught is nice, the composition is good also...my only advice is to try and control your shutter-speeds to get a crisper shot. The subject lends itself to a nice conversion to B&W, maybe a levels adjustment and a bit more contrast also...Good Luck

I was the Mod who removed the entry...I am NOT color blind, for some reason, my monitor/computer loaded the wrong color profile and the entry showed up as red/teal on my screen. Isn't it nice to see an SBS in photography then? See a wonderfully executed shot and perhaps try it yourself sometime. To lean from other that have a few years of experience behind them...

I'm certain the reason the suggester of the contest guidelines had something in mind with that clause, perhaps something like, the reason Pxl was created and why MANY of the members are here..."TO LEARN"...why not an SBS explaining some of the 'magic' so others may see an image that inspires them and read a bit on the authors' procedures for taking the shot. Hey, simply, if you desire to keep your techniques 'hidden, then by all means, it's a free site, you are frre to comply with the guidelines or simply not enter; whatever. I for one would rather teach and instruct, I do it all the time. I've learned a lot here mainly by taking the time to PM authors asking "How did you do that? It's amazing!" Maybe a newer person won't have to courage to ask. SBS's are fine for the Photoshop entries,and many learn from that too.

I like the angle also, different and still works here...a nice leading line created by the tree tops leads from the top left to the guard, it keeps the eyes on the subject well

Nice angle, but, in my opinion, the leading line of the base of the water tower starting in the corner of the right of the photo as it is in the left corner would have made for a better image...

no, not "super original" but, it really works here IMHO...the colors 'pop' nicely and the overall image is well balanced and pleasing....that's what makes a good image. This would be classified as visual confusion and is a wonderful image...could make a neat screen saver too...
