Cool looking cave, I wonder how this would look just a little darker and a touch more contrast to highlight those mineral deposits?

Great feel to this piece, I really like what you have done with the wispy hair and how you created the wings. In my personal opinion the very bright horn takes a little too much of the focus away from the beutiful horse, but that's only in my very humble opinion.

Nice image overall, though I would suggest burying a part of the statue head, he looks a bit floaty now, and if he was still sinking, the surface of the water would be very rough from the impact. I would probably dull down the bubbles a little too, they stand out and look a bit artificial at the moment.

I could swear I've seen this pic in another contest previously... sorry if I am mistaken though

This is beautifully done, nice use of the source. My only minor suggestion would be making the plate a little bit smaller so we could see a little bit of bear tummy. THat and it would be nice to see the front bear smiling now that he is all full of love :P

I'm afraid I have to agree, it looks as though you have just pasted several pictures on a page, but have not integrated them together in any way.

I am sure there is a concept underlying this, just plenty of practice and you'll be able to put something more cohesive together.

agree with Bob on the dragon shadow, also her stride looks a little unnatural having her right leg in the air, might want to move the shadow so both feet are on the ground. A bit of shadow on the handle of the sword (that is behind her back) wouldn't hurt either.

I like what you have done with the planet, but the distorted background doesn't work for me, I'd just paste it over a new sky image.

I can definitely see the mon, I think this could have been captured a little more crisply with a faster shutter speed though.

Nice idea, and the feel of the torch light as though someone's just discovering the body. I would have liked just a little more light to get a glisten from the knife but that's just a tiny nitpick

I love the use of the really thick chain, and an interesting choice of lock to go with something so smooth. Was the word on the lock meant as a subtle commentary on the possible effect of your photoshoot, or is that just my dirty little mind?

Another great entry, a nice variation from what we've seen in this contest so far too. I like the thought that's gone into it, and of course the great execution.

I can see what you have tried to do here and I love the semi-abstract nature of it, but to me this just seems a little too busy and the individual elements are not as clear as I would like (as in step 2 of your SBS). I think the saturation is a bit too high. This is just my personal taste though.

Author, I'd suggest you post (or have a look) in the photography forum. While I'm here though, you might want to consider a 'bridge' camera as a beginner. Most of the functions of a big DSLR but no need to change lenses and much smaller. I have the Nikon P90 and it does a decent job.

JamesD is right, try playing with different blend modes with the amber over the statue to give you different effects, or alternatively try painting in some shadows and highlights.

Have a look at the direction and strength of the shadow on the goal posts, that'll show you what you need to fix.

I really like this one author, nice work. My only suggestion is that the castle on the left probably looks a little too crisp given the foggy atmosphere, and draws the eye a bit too much, maybe just dull/blur it a lil bit.

nanaris, I think you're missing the 'Dumbo' reference. This is a very nice rendition author, a beautiful image.

Very nice image, I love the mood. I do think the soldier looks just a little too big in comparison with the elephant though.

This is great, the lighting is excellent, maybe the bottom of the lance (the hand shield part) could be a little darker though. Excellent chop.

It looks a little OOF, try put the point of focus right at the middle of the red pill.

Also if you moved the pills forward on the book you could lose the noisy background at the top, that would help keep the focus on the pills.

I really like the idea, but you really need the focus to be on the thorn. At the moment it is more focused on the cloth in the foreground.

increasing the constrast might help, make the blacks look really black - they're a bit yoo grey looking now

I have a couple of really minor nitpicks, but this is great overall. I love the feel to this and it is well put together. I'm afraid I have to agree about the ball not adding a lot and being a bit of a ditraction though.

Have to disagree with you on this one Kyricom, I like the focus on the burger - especially given the theme of this contest. This is really well done author!

I'm sorry but I really don't understand what you have done here. The line in the middle of the image and the streaks of light don't really make sense to me. Am I missing something?

This is really nice, personally I'd like it if there were just some small differences so it wasn't completely symetrical, but this is very nicely done.

I think the intensity in the eyes, and the other body language (hands raised) suggests she's not happy about something. Nice shot.

It's going to take you a VERY long time to measure the distance to Babylon with only a tape-measure!! :P
