Twisted...and kind of gross....love it! Nice use of source, author! Hey if you add a few small specular highlight specks to the uvula looking claw arm inside the egg...it might give it a wet look and make it even more creepy. Also...maybe add some noise or grain to the wood showing from the cutout. Great job!

Pixelkid, thanks for the thoughtful comment. I added some noise to the cutout, but wanted to keep the dry scaly look on the claw. Good suggestion, though.
