Drop shadows don't work...what would they be cast on if the butterflies are flying among reeds?

But they aren't in the image, they are on the image. If I wanted them in the reeds I would use blending and masking. I have a picture like this at home, a printed image on a cloth with silk applications.

Again, it wasn't my intention to have the butterflies "in" the image. In this case I would have used a different blend mode. I wanted them "on top" of the image.

I got your intention Author, your butterflies are lodged ON the picture you created with metal beams. Even so you should work on the shadows since the butterflies bodies are on the picture, but their wings are in the air. Nice work anyway

I get it too, I thought the difference in colour, texture etc was enough to show that they werent part of the image. Nice work
