But I think, that the acorn is still too big. I don't think, that this poor squirrel would be able to carry it for a long time and I don't want to see it starve

You need to rethink your shadows, given the overcast sky. Also, your acorn looks distorted? Otherwise a nice image.
In fact the acorn was a little distorted at the top, i've fixed it.

very nice...the only suggestion I have would be to add a little bit of shadow at the base of the squirrel, looks a bit like he's floating...good luck!
