First off all i cropped the image to get a better composition of the photo.
Then i started creating some nice 3d spheres and placed them in the same position as the nuts! I put on reflection for a more intense outcome.
As you can see the reflections are realistic!
I brought back parts of the source image on the reflecting spheres so it looks like an armoured coconut.
I hope you guys like it and let me know what you think about it!

As you can see i edited the edges and removed the coconut structure and changed a few other settings!

Nice colors and indeed the reflections look good too. I think this might look even better if you gave the red armour a side/thickness so that it has real depth. But ok, up to you. Good luck!

It took me some time so far. and i wondered what you guys would think of it first. there is still time left to change the entry and improve it. And your right about the thickness thats what i came up with after i finished this one. but after working on something for hours its good to take a step away from it and look back at it again later on. Most of the time you gain inspiration to improve your work!

The edges fo he coconut on the left could use some work. Try liquefy/push tool to push them round.
