Of-course I’m not expecting to reap any photographic laurels with this one, but I somehow feel emotionally attached to it, as I bought it ages ago from a state-run antiques shop in Canton, China –oh yes, Chairman Mao was still alive and ticking!! Curved on a square piece of redish wood, it looked wonderfully dull color-wise and ancient, something which apparently didn’t sit all that well with the lady I was living with at the time, so she had it lacquered, silly you-know-what. I did try to shoot it from different angles, but my efforts hardly paid any dividends, because it was coming out too dark and blurry.
